چکیده

The nature-based breakwater of floating emergent vegetation (BFEV) provides protection for water banks and various engineering structures from wave erosion. Compared with the convenient hard breakwater, BFEV is beneficial to resilient sustainable development rivers, lakes, coasts, marine areas because it free new pollution. As a unrevealed effect efficiency on attenuation are be investigated through set 312 physical tests in rectangular indoor flume present study. Results show that height attenuates by 38–62%. Based statistical methods, main influencing factors transmitted coefficient (Ct) found closely dependent three conventional newly proposed dimensionless parameters (λ1, λ2, λ3, λ4). Three include orbital velocity, period, BFEV-width stem spacing-based parameter λ2), ratio spacing (λ3). (λ4) gravity acceleration, which significantly positively related attenuation. A multiple linear regression formula Ct based these four obtained high correlation 0.958. This study expected supplement data this provide fundamental theory design construction BFEV.

Genetic algorithm based support vector machine regression in predicting wave transmission of horizontally interlaced multi-layer moored floating pipe breakwater

Planning and design of coastal protection works like floating pipe breakwater require information about the performance characteristics of the structure in reducing the wave energy. Several researchers have carried out analytical and numerical studies on floating breakwaters in the past but failed to give a simple mathematical model to predict the wave transmission through floating breakwaters ...

Investigating the effect of using a Lateral duct in the body of a floating breakwater by numerical method

Floating breakwaters are good alternative to the so-called fixed base breakwaters, which, in addition to having the main purpose of protecting the beach from waves, also maintain the water connection between the sea and the protected area. Researchers in order to increase the efficiency and increase the performance range of floating breakwaters, have done many researches on their effective para...

Hybrid genetic algorithm tuned support vector machine regression for wave transmission prediction of horizontally interlaced multilayer moored floating pipe breakwater

Support Vector Machine (SVM) works on structural risk minimization principle that has greater generalization ability and is superior to the empirical risk minimization principle as adopted in conventional neural network models. However, it is noticed that one particular model in isolation cannot capture all data patterns easily. In the present paper, a hybrid genetic algorithm tuned support vec...
